Frequently asked questions.

How do I prep for a spray tan?

For a flawless, long-lasting tan, proper preparation is key! Please follow these guidelines before your appointment:

24–48 Hours Before Your Appointment:

Exfoliate, THEN Shave: Thoroughly cleanse and exfoliate your entire body using an exfoliating mitt (a loofah isn’t enough!). Exfoliating first removes dead skin build-up so your razor can glide smoothly for a closer shave.

Avoid Oils & Scrubs: Do not use body scrubs, oil-based products, or soaps/razors with heavy moisture strips 48 hours before your appointment! These leave a film on the skin that blocks tan absorption.

Moisturize (At Least 12 Hours Prior): Hydrated skin holds color best! Apply a gentle, oil-free lotion after showering. Do not apply any lotion within 12 hours of your appointment. Do not use the following brands 48 hours before or after you get spray tanned: Dove, Olay, Bath and Body Works, EOS.

Hydrate: Drink plenty of water in the 24–48 hours leading up to your tan.

On the Day of Your Appointment:

Arrive with Clean, Bare Skin: Come to your session with zero lotions, body oils, deodorant, perfume, body spray, or makeup. Any product on the skin acts as a barrier and will cause an uneven or patchy tan.

Avoid Same-Day Services: Do not shave, heavily shower, or exfoliate on the day of your appointment. Complete all other beauty services (waxing, manicures, pedicures, facials, or massages) at least 24 hours prior to your spray tan.

What do I wear during and after my spray tan?

What to Wear After: Wear loose, dark clothing (like a dark tshirt dress, loose sweats, or an oversized shirt) and open-toed shoes (sandals, flip-flops, or slides). Avoid socks, tight leggings, or tight bras.

What to Wear During: You may wear whatever you feel comfortable in to achieve your desired tan lines (or no lines at all!)—an old swimsuit, undergarments, or go topless/nude.

How long do I have to wait before I shower?

8 hours! Wait at least 8 hours before rinsing! Your tan will continue to develop during this time. Avoid getting wet, sweating, or working out while your tan develops.

Take It Easy for 24 Hours: Even though you’ve rinsed, your tan is still developing beneath the skin for 12–24 hours. Avoid heavy workouts, excessive sweating, saunas, and hot tubs during this window to prevent blotchiness.

We will give you an aftercare instruction card at the time of your appointment!

How long will my spray tan last?

Your spray tan will typically last 7 to 10 days, depending on how thoroughly you prep and how well you keep your skin hydrated afterward.

To get the absolute most life out of your glow, keep in mind that certain products and activities can break down your tan much faster. To preserve your color:

Avoid Aerosol Spray Sunscreens: Avoid aerosol/spray-can SPFs! The alcohol and propellants in aerosol sprays will break down your color and cause your tan to look blotchy. Opt for a gentle, lotion-based SPF instead.

Protect Skin Outdoors: Excessive sun exposure and high heat speed up skin cell turnover, causing your tan to fade sooner.

Avoid Excess Heat & Moisture: Long, hot showers, heavy sweating, and sitting in hot tubs will strip your tan prematurely. Stick to warm or cool showers!

Pool & Chlorine Care: Chlorine acts as a natural exfoliant. If you’re going swimming, keep your pool time brief and always rinse the chlorine off your skin with fresh water as soon as you get out.

If you are getting sprayed for a special occasion, we recommend booking 2 days prior to your event for the absolute best results!
